Vacuum glass
What is Vacuum Glass?
How Does It Work?
Our LandVac™ Enhance vacuum glass is made from two panes of tempered glass available in few thicknesses, between which a 0.3 mm vacuum gap is formed once they are joined together. During production, the air from the inter-pane space is evacuated, the unit is sealed and finally, the application of this unique technology creates a vacuum.
During this process, both panes of tempered glass are subjected to immense atmospheric pressure, which makes it necessary to use micro-spacers. Despite their small size, these micro-spacers allow both panes to be safely separated.
Furthermore, the innovative design of LandVac™ Enhance vacuum glass has been engineered without visible evacuation ports or getters (as seen in the previous Heritage version), resulting in a more aesthetic appearance and providing an excellent alternative to slim double glazing or single glazing units.
Where Vacuum Glazing is Especially Beneficial in Application?
- In new buildings where excellent thermal performance is required.
- In historical buildings and heritage properties where single glazing or slim glazing units are particularly important.
- In windows where the glass has been broken and needs replacement, but the window frames are still in good condition.
- In windows and doors requiring installation at low level from the ground, where safety glass is necessary.
- In all public buildings and residential homes that need to meet specific energy efficiency, acoustic, and safety requirements.
Why Choose Vacuum Glass from LandVac™?
- Energy Saving – With an extremely low thermal transmittance (U = 0.4 W/m²K), LandVac™ glass is one of the best available solutions in terms of energy efficiency. Compared to standard double or triple glazing, LandVac™ provides 2-4 times better performance, offering unparalleled thermal insulation and lower energy bills for your home.
- Noise Reduction – With a noise reduction rating of up to RW 36 dB, LandVac™ is the perfect choice for properties in noisy urban environments.
- Design and Aesthetics – The slim 8.3 mm profile and excellent transparency of LandVac™ vacuum glass allow for the creation of both modern and elegant window designs, as well as the reproduction of heritage profiles in historical buildings.
- Durability and Safety – The construction of vacuum glass makes it not only lighter than traditional glazing but also more resistant to mechanical damage. The tempering process ensures high impact resistance and user safety.
- Eco-Friendly and Cost-Saving – LandVac™ promotes sustainable development and offers significant energy savings. Vacuum glass is a fully recyclable product that contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and supports sustainable building practices.
Vacuum Glass vs. Traditional Solutions
Vacuum glass differs from traditional single glazing and double or triple glazing units filled with gases like Argon or Krypton in many ways.
The key advantages of vacuum glass are:
